Welcome to Amateur Productions, and welcome to the golden years of heavy
thrash speed metal, the glory days of a tight little metal scene in Toronto.
There were some true die-hard fans, as well as musicians, and a bond that
has remained for the last 20+ years. A lot have grown up and raised families,
some have moved away, and unfortunately, some have passed on, may they
rest in piece.
It's hard to believe, but the golden years of the Toronto thrash movement
are 20 - 25 years old. The scene in Toronto was just awesome, there was
Anvil, Sacrifice, Slaughter, Razor and countless other thrash bands. Everyone
lived their own lives, but when a show was happening, weather a local
show, or big name out-of-towner, the same crew of people crawled out from
the rocks and came down town to the Concert Hall, Larry's Hideaway, Siboney
Club, Ildikos, El Mocombo, Silver Dollar and many other venues. The suburb
thrashers came from Scarborough, North York, Mississauga, Brampton, Orangville,
Markham, Guelph, Cambridge, Hamilton and everywhere in between,..... to
talk metal over some cold beer, a few joints and some loud music.
We at Amateur Productions wants this new thrash generation to get a glimpse
of what it was like in the early days, with no internet, and not very
much technology, like today. Back then, fans united through pen pal sections
of magazines, we had to send a self addressed stamped envelope with cash
to obtain record catalogs. This form of communication took weeks. Now,
thanks to the internet, everyone all over the world can witness some great
parties and concerts that took place in Toronto in the mid 1980s,.....
as the thrashing rages out-of-control. So witness early thrash at it's
rawest..... welcome to Amateur Productions,....... take it like a man

RAY
" The Black Metal" WALLACE
1962 - 2007
It was in Aug. 1986 that I was at
Larry's Hideaway a local metal bar, that Ray Wallace introduced
himself to me as the manager of Sacrifice. It was again in March
1987 that Ray introduced me to Colin "Maddog" Brown at
Rock 'N Roll Heaven. From that day on, until his way to early passing,
Ray was a super friend. I remember many countless times in his basement
drinking beer and watching Sacrifice jam as well as attending tons
of metal parties and concerts. It was Ray who bought me a spare
tire in Brockville to make it home from a night in Ottawa watching
Metal Church at Barrymores. Ray was a kind, mellow decent human
being. I will miss you my friend, may you live on forever with this
website. Rest in Piece. WATCH
